Potential
contributors might wish to reflect on the
proposition that, having shown it's pre-eminence
in terms of aeronautical engineering as well as
having produced many of the world's leading
military and commercial pilots, Britain should
not be allowed to lag behind its contemporaries
from France, Russia, the USA, the Czech
Republic, Spain, Hungary and a host of other
countries, merely for the want of relatively
modest financial support.
The
scholarship scheme in particular, has the
potential to provide pilots with a
wonderful opportunity to excel in this purest
form of aviation. It also provides successful
members of the private sector with an
opportunity to invest further in British
aviation.
These pilots would not expect to get
something for nothing. They know that they will
have to work extremely hard, both physically and
mentally, and show great determination and
commitment if they are ultimately to represent
their country and to do well at the highest
level of competitive aerobatics. |
